Mrs. Doubrava Returns

Mayfield Middle School has a new teacher entering the scene: Mrs. Doubrava. She isn’t exactly new, though; she taught in the Mayfield schools for twenty years.

Mrs. Doubrava is a part of the seventh-grade Warrior team, where she teaches social studies.

In the past, she enjoyed teaching American government or politics at the high school level. This year, her curriculum will change to World History, and she hopes to make it fun and interesting for her students. The content of the class includes ancient civilizations, the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and Reformation.

Mrs. Doubrava integrates a lot of reading and writing into her classroom, according to her teacher website, to reinforce skills learned in language arts.

She said it’s a bit challenging teaching middle school in comparison to high school. “It’s hard to match the students’ high energy level,” she said. “You need to have high energy yourself to be able to handle them.” Still, she says she is very happy to be back.

Outside of school, Mrs. Doubrava enjoys reading and watching movies.
