Fall is here, and it’s brought with it pumpkin-spice everything and cooler temperatures. If the colder weather has you down, look on the bright side: haunted houses, pumpkin patches, corn mazes and more await in the months ahead. From scares and thrills to nice, sweet family fun, try out some of the following fall activities that are close to home:

Pumpkin patches and corn mazes

Heritage Farms Pumpkin Pandemonium

This event features corn and harvest mazes, pumpkin sales, and challenging scavenger hunts.

Mapleside Farm

Navigate through the huge 7-acre corn maze, have fun enjoying a beautiful hayride through the orchards, go down the 311-foot “Super Slide,” and then bounce right on into Ohio’s largest “Jumping Pillow” in jump park.

Lake Metroparks Farmpark

With trivia questions to guide you, go through a 3-acre corn maze, or enjoy a kids’ play area with awesome photos ops.

Patterson Fruit Farm

Apple-picking, outdoor play areas, hay stacks with tunnels and slides, a tree house in the woods, a 50-foot double slide, corn mazes, hiking, pumpkin painting, horse wagon rides, and pony rides all await at Patterson Fruit Farm.

Haunted Houses

Carnival of Horrors at Blossom Music Center

Are you afraid of clowns? This night will be the scariest night of your life. You’ll have to pass four scary houses to survive: the abandoned fun house, the wicked woods, the insane asylum, and finally, the freakshow in 3-D terrorvision.

Halloweekends at Cedar Point
