The new Wonder Woman movie is inspiring audiences of all ages all around the world. This exhilarating movie was released on June 2, 2017 by D.C. Comics. The movie features Gal Gadot as Diana Prince (Wonder Woman), Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta, and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. This movie has really made an impact on this world considering how the audience is reacting after watching the movie.

Wonder Woman tells the story of an Amazonian princess, daughter of Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons, who lives on a craggy Mediterranean island. This movie is an origin story, meaning the movie portrays how Wonder Woman came to be. After a World War I pilot (Steve Trevor) crash-lands offshore, Diana rescues him, which leads to a battle with German forces who are ultimately felled by the woman’s acrobatic swordplay and superb equestrian skills. After the battle, Diana and Steve Trevor leave the island to go save the world from mass destruction. For Trevor, the mission is to stop a German general and his star inventor from unleashing chemical weapons on Allied forces, whilst for Diana, it’s nothing less than stopping Ares, the Greek god of war.

The audience was so impressed by Diana Prince’s dedication to saving the world from destruction that they felt empowered themselves. Many critics were impressed by the storyline and plot of this movie. A Twitter user claimed that the movie stuck to the original comic storyline but had a touch of modern pop-culture. There were multiple scenes where the movie empowered women. New York Times wrote, “‘Wonder Woman’ tells an interesting, not entirely predictable story…” and Washington Post claims the movie, “brings an exhilarating, vicarious kick to the sagging, bagging table” of male lead characters. The movie’s box office made over $400 billion. Not only is Wonder Woman popular, it is ubiquitously well-loved too!

Girls aren’t the only ones inspired by this movie. There are boys all around the world who are touched by Wonder Woman’s (Gal Gadot) bravery. Kids aspire to be her when they grow up. A little girl asked her parents to change her Beauty and the Beast themed birthday party to a Wonder Woman theme three days before her birthday. New Republic claims that the movie is made for kids all around the world so they can learn “what it means to be an American hero.” Parents think this movie is revolutionary. Women felt empowered after watching the movie.

Another reason why this movie is so important is because of Gal Gadot. Gadot was pregnant during filming many scenes, and many fans and celebrities were impressed by this woman’s dedication to this role.

A college student says, “It’s empowering to see women who have a good mindset and achieve their goals. They don’t let obstacles get in their way. It’s nice to see a female character take the lead considering the issues/events that have been occurring lately.”

When asked what/how should the audience feel after watching the movie, a high school student answered, “the number one thing the audience should feel is strong. After that, they should stop being stereotypical and sexist.”

Lastly, a twitter user wrote, “I felt like had the ability to take on the world. I wanted to be in Wonder Woman’s shoes and stand up for what is right and what should be done.”

Wonder Woman is a movie worth watching. Wonder Woman has empowering scenes, enchanting scenery, and ravishing characters. So if you are slumped and want to be inspired, Wonder Woman is the movie for you.
